Tanner Jessie, a sophomore at MCHS, was recently honored with the chance to play football at AT&T stadium in Texas in an Olympic recognized event on Tuesday, January 14th. Tanner played in a 16 and under age group with other athletes he had just met. Out of 4200 athletes he was chosen to advance to the second round of tryouts on the USA football team where he gained a starting position as an offensive linemen. This event was televised on ESPN3.
He was then interviewed about his experience by WBKO’s Sports Connection which aired on Sunday night Feb. 2nd.
The USA team shows support for the military by wearing logos on the jerseys. Tanner says it was a breath taking experience. As a school, we are proud of him for working hard to earn this opportunity.
